Breaking the Monotony: How Micro Adventures Can Revitalize Your Everyday Life

We are not full time social media travelers, we are not online content creators. We are just ordinary people that have to work to afford to live the way we want to. We all know the groundhog day feeling of work, household duties, social commitments, wash, rinse an repeat. Sometimes I feel as if we really are in a rat race and it can get monotonous and soul sucking.

Have no fear, micro adventures are here.

So, how do we find all these fun and adventurous places? We love micro adventures. Sometimes the planning itself is a great getaway from the mundane. If I am not planning a getaway, I am preparing for one. The excitement of the next adventure is enough to let my mind escape groundhog day.

How do we find the perfect place to explore and have a micro adventure? Well, it is not always awesome, but it is always in our mindset that makes it better. Sometimes when you have a weekend away it will be terrible weather, disappointing accommodation or the attraction you wanted to see is closed. The main thing to keep in mind is that it is all part of the adventure. Cloudy, stormy days by the ocean are not dreary they are moody and taking a moment to watch as the storms roll in can give a new perspective on a place we usually associate with sunshine and playfulness.

Over the next few weeks I will be posting about how I find and plan micro adventures as well as some interesting micro adventures to go on.

Life doesn't need to be extraordinary to feel adventurous. Sometimes the small escapes are what makes us feal most alive.
